Learning maths have almost never been so much fun!
View on the App Store: Mathmateer™ - Dan Russell-Pinson
Features of Mathmateer:
Rocket Math is entertaining in so many different ways while your child is learning and being creative all the while!
Your objective is to build your own rocket ship and launch it into space! This game is so much fun you forget you are doing Mathematics - yahoo!
In order to complete this mission, and over 50 others, you will need to build your own rocket ship, with the ability to launch high, sustain elevation and keep you in the air for longer!!
This is a very fun part of the game and makes this an art and design app as well.
BUILDING YOUR ROCKET:
Before you can build your rocket you need to earn money for the parts (just like in real life!).
To earn game dollars for your rocket you can complete any number of maths challenges.
Choose from Addition, Subtraction, Multiplication & Division (with 3 levels of easy, medium and hard in each). Other types of problems include problems about counting, patterns, shapes, telling time, numbers, fractions and square roots. Once you have earned enough game dollars you can start building your rocket. After choosing the basic body type you have a range of great attachments, decorations and accessories available.
There are over 90 colourful rocket parts available. It is so much fun to attach boosters, fins, decals and more... creating your own uniquely crafted and engineered artistic rocket, ready for launch! This is a very fun part of the game and makes this an art and design app as well.
Set up at the launch pad you are realistically counted down from 5 - 1 and now you control your rocket, powered by a true to life physics engine.
This is where you discover whether your engineering has worked! The longer your rocket is in the air the more of that type of puzzle you get to answer and the higher your potential score.
While your rocket is in the air, assuming it has stayed up long enough and high enough, you are faced with a specific maths challenge, for example "tap on all the odd numbers". You can save 5 different player profiles, allowing 5 people's personal game history on this app. You can create your own avatar from a choice of around 15! Small children may be able to build and launch the rocket but they will need an adult or older child to complete the arithmetic. Great app. We love it.
10 out of 10!
Take time with your child to complete the first few maths puzzles with them. This is important specifically with this game as there is a sequence of events to follow. Your child will have a better time if they understand fully which buttons to push, what will be happening next, what choices they have, and how to launch the rocket and complete the subsequent mathematical exercises.
There is a sequence of events and simple reading is required.
