Features of Kindle:
The iPad Kindle App, in my opinion, is far superior to an actual Kindle device in many ways. The large screen, multitude of font styles, rotatable viewing and having it on a multi-function device - works!
I saw my first Kindle in the real-world recently. Nannie brought hers with her from Northern Ireland along with her iPad, so that she could read while on holiday.
It's small, like a little note-pad, and it stores books bought via Amazon.com's Kindle Store. You can change the colours and font size, and view any of your purchased books on it. It's cute, but not what I expected after using the Kindle App for iPad.
I shared with her and Grampa the iPad Kindle App on my iPad and straight away they wanted it on both of their iPads. After entering their Kindle account details the books began syncing to their iPads, and after only a few minutes...
Clearly she was impressed. I showed her how to increase the font size and choose from the iPad's range of fonts, I also showed her how to change the background colour. What did she think?
Yes, I'm not surprised. Any of those other reviews which compare iPad to Kindle and vote for Kindle must not have been approaching it with an open mind. Seven of us, from age 3 to 75 unanimously voted for iPad Kindle App.
If you're considering whether to purchase an iPad or Kindle, get an IPAD - it does much, much, much more than it's small, but cute, little rival eReader.
