Matching is fun. Even little, little children enjoy taping the screen and watching the 'tile' or 'card' flip over to reveal a hidden picture.  Then, attempting to remember what was behind each card so you can find a match is the next level, which even little children understand quite quickly.

Wikipedia defines Matching Games as: "Concentration, also known as Memory, Pelmanism, Shinkei-suijaku, Pexeso or simply Pairs, is a card game in which all of the cards are laid face down on a surface and two cards are flipped face up over each turn. The object of the game is to turn over pairs of matching cards. The scheme is often used in quiz shows and can be employed as an educational game."
