Review: National Geographic World Atlas

The National Geographic World Atlas has all the maps you need to explore the countries of the world. Perfect for your home educational iPad library.

View on the App Store: National Geographic World Atlas - National Geographic Society

Features of National Geographic World Atlas:

  • High-quality maps from the National Geographic team
  • Visually stimulating map choices
  • Download detailed maps for viewing anytime
  • Easy to zoom and pan on maps
  • Detailed statistics about every country on the planet

The National Geographic World Atlas for iPad is an exceptional world atlas for all the country-level reference requirements.  And, it's fun to look through! As a child I always loved looking through Atlases. They had gigantic ones in the local library which were highly detailed, but you had to stand there and leaf through them.

With this National Geographic Atlas on my iPad I realize that the Information Age has been accomplished. With a simple flick of my finger I'm flying across the globe to discover information about a country miles away.

This is a good choice of iPad atlas for a few reasons. It's great to have an easy-to-use Atlas on your iPad, especially if you're a parent or child at school. It's much easier than carrying around a physical atlas which could way a tonne! Each country is outlined in a different colour making it easy to distinguish one country from another.

Tap and hold any country to get detailed statistics such as: area, population, government, capital, religions and the domestic labour force.  Discover resources, agriculture, industries, exports and a full description of the location.

View your maps in executive or classic style (like old-time painted maps), or view a Satellite or Road map via Bing online mapping system.  This makes the Atlas a current, DETAILED map as well.

National Geographic Atlas for iPad is an excellent choice of App and is a great resource for educating your children.  This atlas allows you to view cities and towns on the maps, but only has data available for individual countries.
