Review: Adagio: The Musical Touch for Kids

Cute and colourful musical app for toddlers and young children that is fun and helps them to learn the musical notes and scale.

View on the App Store: Adagio: The Musical Touch for Kids - Cangrejo Ideas

Features of Adagio: The Musical Touch for Kids:

  • Understand the musical notes that are required to create songs.
  • Identify colours and match them up with the musical notes.
  • Copy the colours and letters to play popular children's songs.
  • Variety of different options and songs to inspire and enhance skill.
  • Freestyle option allows you to make up your own songs.
This is a simple and easy to use app for little ones and for older ones learning to play a musical instrument or wanting to understand how music is created.

There are 2 modes:

1. A compendium of 10 popular children's songs to copy and learn how to play including Happy Birthday, Twinkle Twinkle Little Star, The Wheels  on the Bus and Old MacDonald.  Within this mode a train comes across the centre of the screen pulling carriages.  Each carriage represents a note of the song, has a colour and either a note or a DO, RE, MI option.  Your child has to copy it as it passes by to create the song.

2. Freestyle where your child can select any notes to make their own music.

Within the app there are different selections to vary the sounds you hear.

Each note has a cute and colourful animal and your child can choose to hear the animal sounds or not.

Choose to see the cords letters A,C,E etc. or the Do, RE, MI option and select piano or pipes.  Each selection will provide a slightly different variety of music.

This App will help your young child understand that songs are made up from a musical alphabet in the same way as words and hopefully spark an interest in music.
